Broad discoverability is a repository benefit only inside the source access policy.
- Define who may read, clone, search, export, mirror, and contribute to each source domain.
- Use separate repositories or access domains when confidentiality, regulation, export, or external collaboration requires a hard boundary.
- Keep generated output, history, indexes, backups, mirrors, and review attachments inside the same threat model.
- Distinguish source visibility from dependency permission, approval authority, artifact access, and runtime authorization.
- Record exceptional access, expiry, offboarding, and audit requirements.
