A boundary decision defines the destination and its guarantees; H.6 Migration owns the reusable operating model for reaching it.

  • Start with the change-flow, access, cognitive-load, contribution, or governance mismatch that the current boundary creates.
  • Inventory source history, reviews, ownership, dependency identities, automation, credentials, artifacts, and external consumers that cross the boundary.
  • State which atomicity, discoverability, audit, and compatibility guarantees remain, weaken, or need replacement.
  • Specify redirects, mirrors, compatibility windows, authority cutover, and completion conditions that the migration program must implement.
  • Treat confidentiality-driven splits and convenience-driven consolidation as different evidence problems.
